Global Wine Services General Terms & Conditions

1. Price Promise
We endevour to offer good value for money wines many from small passionate producers that are not normally available in the supermarkets. We keep our prices as competative as possible to ensure YOU get great value and quality.
2. Despatch and Delivery
We endeavour to despatch all goods within 72 hours of receiving your order. Your complete and accurate postcode is always essential for our deliveries.
Goods are despatched on overnight weekday delivery and should be received the next day. Customers in the Highlands of Scotland and outer lying islands should allow extra time for delivery and additional charges may be applicable.
Our couriers will undertake to leave goods without a signature in a safe and secure location. Please be sure to advise us in the 'other details' box on the secure order form if you are happy for your goods to be left in a garage, greenhouse or with the neighbours. This will help us greatly.
If unable to obtain a signature or leave in a secure location our couriers will place a card through your letterbox to indicate they have tried to deliver and they will probably try the next day or may ask you to contact them with a view to delivering at another time.
If you do not receive your order on the day we have advised (or receive a card from the couriers, whose name we will have indicated) please contact us by email as soon as possible and in any case within 24 hours to info@globalwineservices.co.uk
3. Availability
From time to time supplies may be out of stock or vintages change. On extremely rare occasions following your order we may need to substitute some of the chosen bottles. The substituted wine will be as close to the original order in variety and will be of an equal or greater sterling value. If you ever have cause to disagree with our choice of replacements, we will give you a credit for any of the bottles that we have switched, no questions asked.
4. Prices and Payment
All prices are quoted in pounds sterling, and may be per bottle or per case, as indicated. They are subject to currency and market fluctuations and changes in duty and VAT and as such are subject to alteration without prior notice. Prices include Value Added Tax and import duty, unless otherwise specified but exclude delivery charges.
We accept payment by Switch, Visa and MasterCard.
5. Age Restriction
We will not sell wine to anyone under 18 years old. By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. If you are buying a case of wine as a gift - the recipient must also be over 18 years old.
6. Security & Data Protection Act
All online order taking is on a fully secured site using THWARTE software. All orders are processed via our secure webmasters Futurestore. Further details can be found at their website www.futurestore.co.uk.
By providing your details to Global Wine Services on our web site, you consent to us maintaining, recording, holding and using the information you give at the time of ordering to, improve our service to you and inform you of any promotions. All data is collected lawfully and maintained in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
We take your privacy very seriously and will not pass your details to any third party without your permission, other than for delivery purposes.
7. Vouchers
If you have a voucher to redeem against the purchase of wine from us, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. Vouchers are non-transferable and may not be sold or auctioned
8. Cancellations
You may cancel your order for any reason whatsoever at any time up to 7 working days from the day after the date you receive your wine, provided all of the bottles are unopened and intact. We shall reimburse the price of the wine within 30 days from receiving the returned goods. It is your responsibility to store the wine and take reasonable care of it until it is returned to us at your cost.
9. Returns
If any of the wines or other goods are damaged on delivery or found to be faulty we will gladly offer a replacement or full refund. Notification must be given to Global wine Services within 3 working days of delivery. You may choose either to return the whole case or just the affected bottles.
Any wines collected by our carrier must be in their original packaging to avoid further breakages, where possible. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions will reduce your statutory rights relating to faulty or misdescribed goods. Further information about your rights is available from your Local Authority Trading Standards Department or Citizen's Advice Bureau.
10. Limitation of liability
We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by us or our employees or agents in circumstances where:
· loss or damage was not foreseeable to both parties when the contract was formed;
· loss or damage was not caused by any breach on the part of the supplier;
· loss or damage relates to business and/or non-consumers.
We will not be liable for loss or damage caused by the customer handling the wine. In particular we will not be liable for spillages or breakages.
Customers should also be aware of the following inherent risks and warnings:
· Alcohol should be consumed responsibly and in moderation.
· A case of wine is heavy, approximately 16kg, so extra care should be taken when lifting it. If you are concerned about the weight we advise that you transfer the bottles 1 or 2 at a time.
· Red wine in particular may cause staining if spilt so extra care should be taken.
· Sparkling wines and champagnes can be volatile due to the build up of gasses extra care should be taken when opening these.

Content of this website is in real-time, and must not be modified, copied, reproduced, republished, framed, uploaded to a third party, posted, transmitted or distributed in any way except as expressly authorised in writing by the Directors of Global Wine Services.
12. General
We shall not be liable for any delay in delivering your wine if that delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond our control such as, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage, compliance with any law or governmental order, rule, regulation or direction, fire, flood, storm or Act of God, failure of ISP or telecommunications provider in connection with the performance of this Agreement.
Global Wine Services may change or add to these terms and conditions for security, legal or regulatory reasons. We will not use this right to vary the terms of any special offer that applies to you.
Relevant United Kingdom law will apply to these terms and conditions and the relevant courts of the United Kingdom will have exclusive jurisdiction. Here are our details should you want to contact us:
